The child is free to move about the classroom at will, to talk to other children, to work with any equipment he or she understands or to ask the teacher to introduce new materials to him or her. The child is not free to disturb other children at work or to abuse the equipment that is so important to each child's development.
Practical Life provides opportunities for the child to participate in activities dealing with the care and respect of one's self, one's environment and others
Sensorial - the child develops the senes by matching and comparing textures, smells tastes, colors and shapes
Math - the movement from concrete to abstract through manipulative materials
Language - progression from pre-reading to initial reading through phonetic materials
Other areas include art, science, geography and music.
